After working in the corporate sector as an accountant for several years, in 2001, Sophie took a leap of faith to follow her passion for health and wellbeing. She already had a strong interest in the healing effects of massage – her twin boys were elite gymnasts at the VIS at the time and she spent many hours massaging them to aid recovery. Sophie also massaged in a personal training studio, which led her to providing massage support to triathletes at the World Triathlete Championships in Hawaii in 2005.
Coming from a corporate background, Sophie founded Massage2Motivate in 2006 with the initial intention of bringing massage into the workplace. The business started small by providing corporate massages to clients based in Melbourne; however, after landing a national contract, Massage2Motivate quickly expanded to provide corporate and event massage services to organisations Australia wide.
Recognising the many benefits of massage, Sophie wanted to make massage accessible to everyone, leading to Massage2Motivate also providing home visit massage and aged care massage across Australia and occasionally New Zealand.
Sophie remembers a couple of particularly interesting client requests:
“We had a request from a global mining company that required 2 massage therapists to provide workplace massages for one week at a remote mine site. We had to organise 4WD vehicles to reach the location – this was all organised within 3 weeks and was a resounding success.”
“On another occasion, a client asked for 4,000+ staff across the whole of Australia to receive corporate massages on the same day and we were given only 7-days’ notice! While most organisations would struggle, Massage2Motivate met the challenge and delivered corporate massages on time and with high praise from the client.”
No request is too difficult for our team. Contact us if you’re interested in massage for yourself, loved one or company.
