Carrying on from last week’s post listed below are the 4 remaining most popular home massages, which is your favourite?
- Deep Tissue Massage
A Deep Tissue massage focuses on muscles and tissue that are deep within your body. The therapist will use slow deliberate strokes on areas that are sore or painful. Deep Tissue Massage is used to help with loosening tight or sore muscles. You can sometimes feel sore a few days after receiving a deep tissue massage.
- Shiatsu Massage
Shiatsu original came from Japan and the word Shiatsu in Japanese means “finger pressure”. A shiatsu therapist will use finger pressure on areas of your body in a rhythmic fashion. Pressure is held for 2 or more seconds to assist with the flow of energy within the body. A Shiatsu massage can still be relaxing but without the soreness of a Deep Tissue Massage.
- Thai Massage
A Thai massage is very similar to a Shiatsu massage in that pressure is used on certain points of the body. As you lie face down the Thai Massage therapist will move over your body almost as if they are hovering above you, stretching, putting pressure whilst transferring their weight from one arm to a leg. If you have never received a Thai massage I would strongly recommend receiving one. You will feel incredibility invigorated.
- Reflexology Massage
When you mentioned Reflexology you might immediately think of “foot massage”. Reflexology is much more than just a foot massage. A therapist will use their hands and one or more wooden tools to assist them when putting pressure on the recipient’s hands or feet. Reflexology involves putting pressure on certain parts of the foot or hands that relate to particular organs or systems within the body. A reflexology massage can be a very relaxing experience.
